Lions District 24-I

DG Patricia Jones

Lion Pat Jones joined the Virginia Beach Oceanside Lions in 2006.  She served as the Oceanside Lions Club President in 2012-2013and 2013-2014.  Lion Pat served as Zone G Chair 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 and Region III Chair 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.  She has served as Club Bulletin Chair and Special Interest Club Specialist.  Lion Pat is a Certified Guiding Lion and graduated from the RLLI. Her honors include Proud Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow.  Pat lives in Suffolk, Virginia.

1st VDG Scott Durbin

Lion  Scott Durbin is a joined the Virginia Beach Town Center Blind Lions Club in January 2007.  He has served his club as President of the Town Center-Blind Lions Club 2016-2017,Secretary 2014-2016 and 2018-2019, Tail Twister, and Membership Chair.  He served District 24-I as the Zone P Chairperson from 2018-2019.  In March 2019, Lion Scott was appointed to Second VDG by DG Jeff Gaddis, and approved on March 8, 2019 by the 24-I District cabinet, the District PDG’s and LCI.

Lion Scott is a retired Naval Petty Officer and served his country for 21 years retiring in 2003. He received the Navy Commendation Medal and 2 Navy Achievement Medals for excellence in performance of his duties in serving the Navy and his country.  He was deployed on carrier duty during Desert Storm/Desert Shield and during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Lion Scott currently works for Naval Air Station Oceana Branch Health Clinic Dam Neck Military Base in Administration as a training and administration specialist. He is married to Lion Mary Durbin.

2nd VDG Greg Cole

Lion Greg was sponsored by Lion Jim Gussett in 2008. He has been a member of the Farmville Lions Club for11 years and has served in the following positions:

Lion Greg received the LCI Presidential Leadership Award 2018 from IP Naresh Agarwal. He represents the Farmville Lions well and has been instrumental in recruiting, coaching and mentoring his new members. Lion Greg also supported District 24B by providing use of the Woodland community center for local Lions Meetings, Zone and Cabinet meetings and by providing a low cost meal for attendees. He has worked with the Central Va Lions Recycling Center recruiting members from the Woodlands community as volunteers to clean and score glasses. Under his leadership the Farmville club reached record years in Broom Sales and their Golf Tournament fundraisers, the Farmville Lions Club also holds the record in LOVF ticket Sales which led to reach the goal of $100,000 to build a Children’s Playground partnering with the City of Farmville that is equipped to serve disabled children as well as a Legacy Project assisted by a grant from the Lions of Va Foundation. While President, the club worked to build strong partnerships with Faculty and Students at Longwood University to support their efforts to preserve hearing in school age children and this year they have recently chartered the Longwood University Lions Club a Campus Club.

Lion Greg attended the Lions of Virginia Regional Leadership Institute in Mach 2019 and was appointed Zone Chair in March of 2019 by DG Jeff Gaddis

As you can see, being a part of a civic organization and serving the community has been a part of Greg’s life since high school.
